Shattered Candy - OPI / China Glaze crackle mani

Let me start this post by saying that I'm definitely not fed up with crackles just yet. For me, crackle polishes are here to stay. It's a "new" type of finish, just like I'm still loving matte manicures, suede finish, you name it. I just wear whatever floats my boat, LOL!

I recently made a bunch of crackle rings, and I decided to match my manicure to one of them. I'm wearing four polishes: China Glaze For Audrey with OPI's Black Shatter and Wet'n'Wild Black Creme with China Glaze Crushed Candy.

It took me one, thick coat to mostly cover my nails with For Audrey, and Black Creme is a one coater even with a thin-ish coat, so it was a fast manicure overall. I had a few issues getting Crushed Candy to crack right, but I think it's because it has thickened a bit. 

I'm including a picture of both hands, and I must say I like the result on the right hand the most (the picture on the left). Big crackles are so beautiful; it really shows the colour underneath it!

OPI : Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow (+suede scotch accent finger)

Wow, it's been a while since my last post! The past weekend has been very busy, celebrating birthdays Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, working, cleaning and preparing like mad on Friday.. It was a blast, but I'm totally exhausted after it lol.

While I was celebrating my boyfriend and mum, I didn't have time to change my manicure so I was wearing a silver chrome with a crackle on top. The result was a bit sloppy so I didn't take any pictures ;) I finally had time to change my manicure, and I took one look at my untrieds and knew I had to try the original version of Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow from OPI.

Aragon is an incredibly dark forest green polish with subtle shimmer. It's almost black, and I'd say it's a jelly with creme tendencies, it took me three coats to cover my nails. The shimmer is very subtle, but you can just make it out in direct sunlight. It should not be your reason for purchasing this baby though, or you would be severely disappointed. In my book, the shimmer is a bonus, not a necessity.

I used two coats of my preferred basecoat, NailTek II (I'm hoping that using two coats from now on will help minimize the yellow tint to my nails - they are very yellow, sadly), three coats of Aragon and one coat of China Glaze Fast Forward. 

Aragon is very easy to work with, and applied like a dream with very little clean-up for me to do. Sadly, I rushed the layers too much and was left with a huge amount of bubbles. Luckily, Fast Forward took care of them for me :)

Personally, I couldn't love this manicure more. It's simple, green and super shiny ♥ I admit that I was totally biased, wanting to love it made me work harder to make it work ;) The name and colour is what won me over, it's very hard to love through swatch pics, as it looks so black. Unless you're a hardcore dark green lover and jelly tolerater/lover like me, I don't think Aragon will do much for you - it's not a perfect green creme but it will work if you love it enough and have the patience for three coats.

What's your opinion about Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow? Do you own it, the suede version or both? Which is your favourite version? If I had to choose, I'd go for the Suede version (and I just might have to get a back-up of it, I love it so much), but I'm really glad to have both and will be using them combined again :)

Lipmann released two polishes for Christmas 2010 - a silver and gold glitter. I wasn't keen on them at first, but the silver one won me over with it's cute blue-toned jelly base. It's not your regular silver glitter after all!

It wasn't until recently I actually purchased Fairytale. I found a great seller on ebay selling Lippmann polishes for a really fair price and decided to buy the ones I was lusting after - and I had been sending this pretty some jealous vibes looking at pics in other blogs :) Thanks for winning me over, Catharina! If you haven't checked Nails By Catharina out yet, you should - it's a super nail blog and she has a great taste in polishes!

So, already wearing Vant, I decided I needed a little glitter and went for Fairytale.

Today Was A Fairytale is a sheer greyish blue jelly filled with silver glitter in various sizes.. And diamond powder. While it contains virgin diamond powder, it's not something that influenced my purchase at all, LOL. It's hardly like wearing big rocks on your fingers ;) It's a sales trick that would win some over, though. 

The most thrilling part about this polish is, without doubt, the gorgeous jelly base. It almost looks like a light version of Lippmann's Rehab ♥ Another thing that came to mind is Lippman's Lady Sings The Blues - these three bottles looks stellar together on my shelf!

I think it's easier for you to look at the macro shot to see the glitter, rather than me explaining how it looks.

 Left is natural sunlight and right is flash inside... I'm not sure how to determine which is the most accurate! In a way, I'd say the sunlight picture, but then again, the colour did alter depending on the light, so they're both pretty accurate ;)

I'm not too thrilled with my decision to use these two polishes together. The jelly base was just too sheer to make a big impact on Vant, my base colour, and I'm left with what looks like a boring silver glitter on top of a blue base. I tried adding another coat of Fairytale on one finger and it looked even worse :/ I think Fairytale lacks depth, at least in my world. I think it would be much, much better over a silver foil, or maybe a dark cornflower blue - maybe even on its own ♥ Lesson learned, though - we learn by trying :) Now you will hopefully learn by my mistakes!

What's your favourite Lippmann - and am I the only one who would wish she'd make more jellies like Rehab? I doubt there will ever be glitters that will top Across The Universe and Glitter In the Air, in my world they are perfection, but I'm always excited to see her new collections!

OPI : I Vant To Be A-lone Star

Today I want to show you a colour from OPI's Texas collection. I might be an idiot, but I have no (real) idea what this name is referring to, LOL! Let's make it short and call it Vant in this post :)

Anyhow, after seeing swatches of Vant and China Glaze's Sea Spray, I decided I had to have both - admittedly, in Vant I was hoping to get Sea Spray with more shimmer and a better brush!

While the colours are alike, they're definitely not dupes - Vant has much more shimmer and I think a tiny hint of blue more that Sea Spray. Both look great in their own way, but I must say I have a favourite already.. More about that later on :)

Vant has a peculiar formula, unlike any other OPI I've tried. If only it was for the better, but sadly, it isn't. I might sound crazy, but it felt like applying foam to my nails - and please, please take this advice and do not shake the bottle before use. It will add bubbles! I'm a hardcore shaker, LOL, and until now I've never seen any bad effect from it, but Vant proved to me there are polishes better left without a shake. Imagine adding a few steel balls to some foam and shaking - not great, right?

I was surprised to see Vant cover in two coats (the first was the most tricky to apply and was very thin, the next was a bit thicker). I would add three if I wanted to wear Vant on its own, though, you can still see nail line if light falls upon your nails.

If you're head over heels with the colour, I think Vant is worth the trouble - it might be troublesome compared to other OPIs but they have a high standard IMO ;) I think it's obvious now that I would choose Sea Spray as the winner, it is much, much easier to work with.

OPI : Pamplona Purple

Now, I see myself as a all-kind-of-colours-kind of polish freak. I love anything from light pastels to dark colours, all kinds of finishes (except most frosts). And most of all, I love nail polishes in all colours of the rainbow - there's not a colour not represented in my collection (even though I very rarely wear red, it's still represented and worn in different kind of combinations)

But I have one problem I'm serious annoyed about... No matter how many purple cremes I try, I can never seem to find one I want to keep on for more than a day. I love purple as a colour, and I love the purple swatches I see, and even when I buy purples I find I adore them in the bottle... But when I apply them to my nails, I get disappointed and want to change manicure immediately.

I guess you can say that I'm on a never-ending quest to find a purple creme I will fall head over heels with and not want to alter with glitter, flakes, flecks, etc. I recently bought Pamplona Purple from OPI, I was sure it would be the perfect shade of purple to go with my skintone - not too warm and not too cold.

While I think Pamplona Purple goes fine with my skintone, it still didn't amaze me like I hoped it would - like every other purple, I look at my nails and go a little 'meh'. I find my nails looking "classy", and that's a plus in my book for some occassions, but why am I not excited?

The polish has a great formula, covers in two coats and it is a delight to work with. I have no idea why I'm still so disappointed - maybe I'm just not good with purples?

I didn't add a topcoat, as I slapped on a holographic polish to make it work for me a few days. I haven't felt like changing my manicure often these days, I guess it's because I've been ill and busy with other chores in between. I think I remembered to take a picture of the holo on top, if so I'll do a post soon :)

Quick NOTD: Here Today.. Aragon Tomorrow suede

Hey girls!

I've been super busy today, been to school and looting from my local drugstores. GOSH make-up were reduced 40% so I had to hoard a few extra of Holographic for Summer, and I also bought something else I've been experimenting with today, which I'll feature soon in a post.. Franken style!

I forgot to take a bottle picture of the beauty I've been wearing for the past 3 days. In fact, I'm still wearing it, as I love it so much! Even my dad complimented it, LOL, I think he like the subtleness for once x) Here's a mani shot I did when I applied it ~

OPI Here Today.. Aragon Tomorrow Suede

Besides for some minor chip wear, it looks pretty much the same today ♥ I love it so much!

I used my regular basecoat, 2 coats of Aragon Tomorrow (and added a coat of Essie Matte About you to prolong wear, after the pics were taken. It didn't make any difference to the finish IMO). This polish is special to me, because LOTR has a special place in my heart ♥ The colour reminds me of the brooches the fellowship wears in the movie. It kind of makes you feel like part of the gang, right? LOL, maybe that part is just me! All that aside, the polish is pretty darn gorgeous! Shimmers look super pretty with a matte finish.

I've been thinking about doing a theme week (as I loved Ulmiels Illamasqua week). What would you guys like to see? I can do a brand theme, a colour theme, finish theme... You name it!

NOTD: OPI Pink Me I'm Good

First of, let me say welcome to my new followers :) I'm thrilled people are entering the giveaway, it must mean you like the prizes, right?

OPI Feelin' Hot-Hot-Hot! & Pink Me I'm Good

Today I want to show you a stunning pink OPI polish I won from Karens blog - OPI Pink Me I'm Good. It is a sheer pink polish crammed with gold glitter. I was so lucky to win this HTF shade along with Pink Of Hearts 2010, which I'll be showing you another day ♥ Both are polishes I've been wanting for a while, especially Pink Me I'm Good.

To the left is Feelin' Hot-Hot-Hot! and Pink Me I'm Good. I knew PMIG would be very sheer on it's own, so I decided to use a base colour to save on the gorgeous glitter. Fortunately, Feelin' Hot-Hot-Hot! is a dead on match :)

I started out with my NailTek Basecoat, then I applied 2 coats of Feelin' Ho-Hot-Hot!. I then applied one coat of Pink Me I'm Good and finished with my Fast Forward topcoat from China Glaze.

I like the result, but I think a bit of the magic touch disappeared when I decided to use a base colour. 

I must try this girly glitter again when my nails are ready for a sheer manicure ♥ ... Or I could use one coat base colour and two PMIG. Gotta love how different the results can be with different use of layers!

OPI Feelin' Hot-Hot-Hot! & Pink Me I'm Good

Looking at this picture, I really think it's time to shorten my nails. Some of them are starting to curve ever so slightly in the sides, and I *hate* that. I just wish I could wear this length without the curving/bending issue :/

Alice in Wonderland / Valentines manicure

Hey girls! Doing anything fun this weekend or on Valentines day? :)

Alice in Wonderland inspired stickers

I know Valentines day is an American tradition, and a lot of people in Denmark are against the concept of "adopting" the tradition seeing as it is mainly stores that wants us to spend money LOL. I like the idea behind Valentines day though (what can I say - I love any excuse to spend time with my loved ones and I love everything tacky!), and even though I'm not celebrating anything with my boyfriend, I figured I could do a manicure and celebrate in my own way ;)

I bought the stickers to the left from an internet store based in the UK, Nailtopia. I love Alice in Wonderland, I've always been a fan of the Disney cartoon (or the fake version I grew up with - I wish I could find it!), and with the movie released last year my love was rekindled.

I wanted a base that fitted both the red and black stickers, and thought it would be fun to use a red base for the first time. Yes, this is the first time I'm wearing a red polish! Ever! But, as I suspected, red alone isn't really me, so I found my black creme from WnW and some scotch tape :) Sorry if you think it's a bit tacky/boring I used the diagonal design again - I really like it and don't grow tired of it within a few hours as I do with funky french manicures. So be prepared to see a few of these in the future ;)

I used my new OPI Paint My Moji-toes Red as the base (after seeing it quite a few times on Neglenymfernes blog I decided it was the perfect red, and I wasn't disappointed). It covered nicely in one coat, then I used a coat of Fast Forward topcoat, then did the diagonal with scotch tape and my black creme, added another layer of Fast Forward, and then I was ready for the stickers! I used a layer of Fast Forward on top of the stickers to prolong the wear of them.

For the first time in - well, maybe the first time ever - I decided to include a picture of my right hand of the end result :) It took me a while to paint properly with my left hand, but I think I got it now.

I'm thinking of cutting my nails short soon, but I feel like these long canvases are just too much fun to shorten, LOL! There's room for much more nail art :)

The stickers are really fun to work with, and again they're rubber-based so they can be stretched to fit (which was very nice with the note-thingy as I cut it a wee bit too short). All in all I'm very pleased with these and don't regret paying a little bit extra for some high quality stickers. It's a shame they're one-time use only though, as I'd love to wear Alice quite often :) I'd say there's enough for two manicures in one sheet.

Review: Nailtopia nail strips and a flash of Teenage Dream from OPI

Today's post is going to be a bit picture heavy, but I hope you don't mind ;) I have a lot to show you!

China Glaze - Something Sweet & OPI - Teenage Dream

Firstly, a gigantic package arrived earlier this week and from the 20+ polishes I got I'll be showing you two of them today. For the glittery result you see below I used the two polishes to the left: China Glaze - Something Sweet and the glitter is my favourite from OPI's collab with Katy Perry - Teenage Dream.

I used two coats of Something Sweet and two coats of Teenage Dream. Teenage Dream is a very dense glitter, it's base is pink and very thick but still manageable. In my experience OPI makes some great glitters and TD is certainly one of them. I can see it being pefect for light, summery manicures and I will definitely be using mine more as the weather gets better ;)

I took a picture in my lightbox of the result and it really washed out the holo effect of the glitter, so I decided to do a blurry shot so you can see why this glitter is so amazing :) 

I'm pleased to say it's everything I dreamed about after seeing the promo pics/video last Winther. I had high expectations, but I was counting on it being necessary to use a base colour, so that doesn't bother me.

ChG - Something Sweet & OPI - Teenage Dream

My only issue with this is not the polish' fault.. I'm really disappointed to admit that this colour combination isn't "me" on it's own - it's a bit too sweet looking. In general, warm pastel colours doesn't fit my style or skintone, so I usually steer clear of pale purple and pink, but I wanted this to work so hard that I took the chance anyway. I'll be trying it with a darker base next time, perhaps a dark purple or blue.

Anyway, I wasn't going to give up with this manicure. To my luck I had just bought a spare of my one-coat black creme - Wet'n'Wild Black Creme, and I received a package from Nailtopia with some products to review, and what better time to have some fun with stickers? :)

Here's the product I'll be reviewing:

Nailtopia Nail Strips Design LS-4

At 3.49£ a package, you get 3 x 30 cm strips. While I am usually very cheap when I buy nail stickers, I'd say this box is a good deal - I used approx. ½ of one strip, meaning there's enough for up to 6 manicures (depending on how many strips you want per nail ofc). And the quality is very good - they are self-adhesive and rubber-based, so you can stretch them very carefully if you cut them a few mm too short or just want the desired design to fit your nails. I was very impressed with this once I learned how to manage them with my clumsy fingers, LOL! And it's quite easy to measure how much you need, you can do this while the backing is still on.

ChG - Something Sweet, OPI - Teenage Dream, WnW Black Creme & Nailtopia nailstrips

I love it! I topped it off with China Glaze Fast Forward to prolong the wear of the nailstrips/stickers. I'd suggest using two layers of topcoat if you want the sticker to be completely invisible, but since I'm already wearing 9 layers on my nails including all colours and base coat, I called it a day with one.

Nicole by OPI - My Lifesaver

Today I'll be showing you a colour that has been keeping my nails bright for 4 days without a single chip. Granted, there is a little tip wear but I haven't used topcoat since the original manicure to try and protect it, so I didn't expect otherwise.

My Lifesaver

The colour in question is My Lifesaver - recently released from Nicole by OPI. It's my first NbOPI, and aside from the brush that was crooked (factory flaw), this polish has been an absolute joy to wear. The store in which I bought it said they'd happily replace it with a new bottle with a perfect brush, so I'll be going back next week to get a perfect bottle.

In general I'm not so fond of the bottle - I think the OPI bottle is a little bit more beautiful - but it's defnitely not the worst design out there.

I'm almost embarrassed to say that this colour was a collaboration with Justin Bieber - I feel like a fangirl and being a tween all over again. Rest assured that I bought this polish for the colour! ;)

Now, how would I get access to this colour, living in Denmark where most people haven't heard about OPI, China Glaze or other amazing brands? 

A chain of stores that sells furniture, home accessories, clothing, jewellery and like recently began to carry OPI lacquers. I checked their range, and it was a little sad looking - 6 Burlesque colours and some bestsellers, but I hadn't expected more to be honest. And the price was as I had feared; almost, if not 3 times as expensive as OPI lacquers is in the US. Needless to say, I was thrilled OPI was beginning to appear in smaller danish stores but I didn't buy any for the time being. 

Last week I decided to check if they were getting the Katy Perry collection, as I badly want the two glitters from that collection (which they hadn't by the way), and there it was - a gorgeous, bright creme staring at me.

It looked odd; there was six bottles crammed into the OPI display, the bottles not fitting in the display were kind of stuck and I had to fight with it to get it in my hands. I asked the clerk if they were getting other NbOPI colours, but she said she didn't know for sure but wasn't expecting any new colours apart from these. I guess it's the store chain that decides which colours they carry, and they hit the nail by deciding to order this baby ♥ Seeing as the Justin Bieber collection is expensive on Ebay, I decided it was worth it to buy in the store. I also feel good supporting the arrival of OPI in small towns like mine.

This gorgeous mint is opaque in two coats. By the look of first coat it looked like it would need three, but the second coat covered all bald spots. I drew the blackbird with a small brush and black and whit stampy polish from Essence. I used a layer of China Glaze Fast Forward to finish it, as the polish is a bit thin and you could see ridges and the like without a topcoat.

This will without doubt (unless another bright mint comes around with an even better formula), be my go-to mint this Spring/Summer ♥ It is so beautiful, bright and long lasting.

Mint Mojito, cupcake and strawberries!

This manicure is inspired by a beautiful green creme I got recently, perfect for spring - Orly's Mint Mojito. I love this colour so much, it's bold for a pastel shade, it's green and it's just... wow. This is as flashy as a glitter! Does that make sense? LOL

I had a few difficulties capturing the true shade of the colour.. It's a bit more bold than my flash would allow.

Here's 2-3 coats of Mint Mojito. It's a bit sheer, but the colour is worth the 2 thick or 3 thin coats it takes.

Mint Mojito is gorgeous on it's own, but I wanted more. I couldn't help myself, I needed something cute on my fingertips!

Besides my basecoat, NailTek II, I used Mint Mojito as base colour - 2-3 coats.

I then added a coat of Seche to speed up drying time, then I painted the cupcake and strawberries using OPI Feelin' Hot Hot Hot!, Essie Pretty Edgy, white Depend polish and finished the cupcake with some steel beads from Ebay in green and pink. 

I gently pushed them into the wet polish, and added a coat of Seche Vite to finish the manicure. I've worn this for three days now, and none of them have fallen off :)

I hope you like it! I think it's pretty cute, even if a bit sloppy, and will def. do something similar when Spring comes!

My top 5 polishes from 2010! *Tag*

The sweet Annkiins'♥ tagged me - so I'll be sharing my top 5 nail polishes from 2010 with you! :)

I've only been collecting/using polish the fanatic way (LOL) since August so it was easy choosing some I have got this year, but I decided to only choose between those that were released in 2010. It made it easier for me, but it was still hard to exclude some from this list!

First up, #5 on the list ~ Orly's Galaxy Girl!

I chose Galaxy Girl because Orly's Cosmic Collection was a major hit - not only for me, I'm sure ;) Galaxy Girl is my favourite - it's what I be looking for in a vampy duochrome, with it's almost blood-looking base. Even though there are dupes, it's such an unique polish, IMO - the colour in general - unlike most nail polish out there. It's bling in a new, fun way ♥

I'm super excited my nail polish obsession started this summer, so I could get this gorgeous colour before it goes out of production again! ♥ A dark green jelly, almost black - and a super formula. I was lemming this colour so bad for a month or two before buying it - and I haven't regretted it one bit!

I'm not shy of admitting that I am a glitterholic. I can't get enough flashy polishes! Across the Universe, along with Happy Birthday and Lippmanns other beautiful glitters, are so unique and made of amazing quality - it's like wearing diamonds in a jelly base ♥ The colour really speaks for itself, I think, so I'll leave it at that :)

Let's move on to #2 ~ Alessandro Magnetic Nail Polish!

Magnetic polishes are fickle to work with - but it really pays off. I chose to include the Magnetic polish I bought in Germany on this list, because it is one of the most unique polishes in my collection - the effect isn't too widely used in the polish industry, which is a shame IMO! Even though this polish is expensive, it's worth all your greens... It's one of the few polishes I didn't want to remove, even after 3 or 4 days and a chip.

And finally.... *drumroll* My favorite polish from 2010!

Mad As A Hatter is the most wearable funky glitter I've found. It's full of colours, and very sparkly, but it still has that unity, I think it's called - it looks perfect with a dark grey outfit. I chose MAAH as my number 1 for 2010, because it was the first polish I wanted so bad I couldn't stop looking for it, despite the price tag (I bought it on ebay during Fall - and the price was double the original when it was released in Spring). It's also the polish that made me go glitter crazy - and started my lust for Lippmanns polishes along with other more expensive polishes. Even though I have glitters I'll be wearing more - this is a very unique polish that deserves credit for starting the glitter caze (and I don't think I'm the only one who was bitten - take a look at the glitterfied Burlesque collection!)

*phew* There it is, my top 5 picks. :) I've left out some amazing polishes, I think deserve to be mentioned: Catrice's Run Forest Run! + Sold Out Forever, GOSH Gypsy Blue, Chanel Paradoxal, China Glaze Party Hearty, OPI's Absolutely Alice, and the list goes on ♥

NOTD : Kitty 'n' dots

Today'll just be a quick post; wanted to show my manicure for the day :)

Hello Kitty stamp is from a no-name brand plate from Ebay

I used 2 coats of OPI Feelin' Hot hot hot!, used a french tip white polish for the dots, a black stampy polish from Essence and a no-name plate from Ebay for the kitty stamp. The black stampy polish was a gift from my German friend; it works amazing with stamps (I've had a hard time using the kitty plate previously).

Felin' Hot hot hot! might be a tad too yellow for my skintone, but I kind of like the look ofyellowed pink... It reminds me of the 80's, 90's and Barbie dolls :)

I don't have much to show you, I've had the worst migraine for a few days and haven't had the energy to do my nails. My Zulu & Nfu Oh mani is still looking great with only minor tipwear, thankfully.

I thought I'd make a post with my recent buys - if you see anything you'd like swatched, throw a comment below and I will do so :)

Thank you so much girls! I love all of them, the small brights are great for patterns and I was very excited about Sinfull Senorita, which is a holographic polish from H&M! ♥ I'm saving it for a sunny day.

I purchased three of my major lemmings when I found them for sale in the same store - and cheaper than in the brands own stores! I am SO excited about all of them!!

Feeling green

Today I decided to slap on some new colour on my nails, having grey/black is neat but I desperately needed some colour to cheer me up! I've been wearing my grey manicure for a few days, I ended up liking it a lot actually, despite the flaws and shape irregularities :)

I recently received a package containing 7 cremes I've wanted for a little while - I've been buying so much glitter that I finally felt like less could be more (and it certainly can). I will get a picture of the haul soon :) Some of the colours I got is Jade Is The New Black and Who The Shrek Are You from OPI and Recycle from China Glaze, and all three are featured in today's simple design. And yep, I'm failing miserably at sticking to my no-more-polish-until-Germany resolution, but it feels so good buying polishes! I love colours, what can I say ♥

After using Orly's cuticle remover, I applied my Nail Tek II base coat, 2 coats of JadeITNB and added several dots with my non-dotting-tool-that-I-use-for-dotting-anyway - tool (LOL) of Shrek and Recycle. Jade is a very calm yet funky green, a great green creme for all kinds of manicures.

Here's the result! I think I'm getting control over my cuticles, pampering them like babies for the past few days they are starting to behave better LOL. If only I could get my middle finger nail shaped as the rest of them, it looks so square around the cuticles. Any advice, or do I just live with it?

My nails looks like they have several different lengths! I blame the crooke way I held my fingers.

OPI Jade Is The New Black

I really need to learn to place my fingers better! They are either pressing down too hard or placed wierd. Maybe I'm just not meant to do bottle shots LOL.

I applied the top coat (Seche Vite) too soon after the base of Jade and again after the dots, so there's a billion of small air bubbles. Thankfully Seche does a great job smoothing them out at least.

Friday there was a lovely rainbow outside our kitchen window, I took a picture so I could share it on a rainy day (and today sure has been!). :)

Rainbow! I was looking for the My Little Pony writing when I first saw it ;)

NOTD - can't wait for Teenage Dream from OPI!

Today I decided to try out a nail polish my mom gave me this weekend - it was in a nail gift set with two other polishes, a nail file and top coat. It was really sweet of her to think of me when she saw it, and as soon as she gave it to me I knew why ♥ She knows I love glitter! Sadly, I forgot to take a picture of the gift set so that will have to wait until I try out another one of the three. But here is todays nail polish! I am sorry for the crappy yellowed pics today, but I've been in bed with the nastiest migraine from the moment I was off work. If I have the time tomorrow before work, I might snap a few with better light.

I call it "Want to be a Teenage Dream" - isn't it lovely?

And this is the polish I thought of as soon as I saw it... Teenage Dream from the upcoming Katy Perry collection from OPI! ♥

I could see that it (my new polish, not the real TD) was really sheer and not the buildable kind, so I decided to find a sweet pink base and use it as a layering polish. And I am glad I did! It took me two coats to build the glitter you see on the pictures... And I was tempted to put on even more! I used 2 coats of GOSHs Sweet Rose as base.

My opinion? A beautiful glitter, perfect for layering - but I was hoping it would make me content until Teenage Dream is released. But no, now I'm waiting even more excited for the real deal!

NOTD - Mad as a Hatter

As promised I have pics of OPI Mad as a Hatter for you today!

Sparkle sparkle!

I was recently looking through google and the blogs I follow, and I couldn't seem to find a swatch with MAAH on a grey creme, so I decided to try it out and hoped for the best. IMO, glitters come more to live with a calm base colour, and it doesn't take you 4 coats to cover so you save the sparkly goodness too ;) Of course it doesn't look as deep as 4 coats alone would, but I can live with that. I'd rather wear MAAH twice as many times before emptying the bottle!

I used NailTek basecoat, 2 coats of GOSH Miss Grey, 2 coats (last one only to cover bald spots) MAAH and 2 coats of Seche Vite topcoat.

The weather is very grey today so my pictures aren't the best. I also haven't had the time to moisten my cuticles before the pictures, and I've been cleaning a bit this morning so they look dry. I still hope you enjoy the pictures!

Depending on how much light it catches, it will go from light grey to dark almost black with lots of sparkles. This polish did not disappoint and I had very high expectations! ;)
