Nfu Oh #62 + China Glaze Visit Me In Prism

Easter has been amazing here, the weather has been warm, sunny and we've had lots of small barbecues, super yummy!

As for most of nail polish fanatics, a sunny day calls for something sparkly in my stash... Since I still have holos I haven't tried yet, I decided to try one; my very first holo from Nfu Oh - #62. It's a nude/champagne holo with a strong pink tone, very warm and flattering if a silver holo like Gosh Holographic makes your fingers go lobstery.

I tried it using two base coats; NailTek II Foundation and Gosh Fix Base Coat... and the difference was enormous. 

Applied on NailTek II, it was a nightmare I've never tried before - bald patches, pulls, you name it. It took me three coats and as few strokes as humanly possible for it to look decent.

On Fix Base Coat, however, it behaved a lot better. Two coats was enough, and I could be a bit sloppier as usual applying them, LOL! Promise me you'll invest in this basecoat or Nfu Oh's Aqua Base Coat if you try these super dense holos - it'll save you layers, trouble and annoyance! I can't emphasize this enough ;)

Even though it's amazing, it's kind of dull inside. The nude colour make my nails look invisible, lol. Not so fond of these super-fine-particle-holos for everyday use :/ I spend too much time inside.

I decided to knock it up a notch with another similar holo, China Glaze's much coveted Visit Me In Prism. This polish was a total lemming for me, it's my ultimate favourite from the Kaleidoscope collection. A big plus in these are that their rough particles rocks inside too! :) I used one coat on top of #62. It's a shame I forgot to take pictures outside of this combo, it looks less phony/grainy IRL. My flash is trying to kill it, lol.

I love the combo!! Visit Me In Prism is quite sheer on its own I believe, so this huge bottle of Nfu Oh serves well as base, lol! Don't feel sorry for #62, it'll get the love it deserves on days I need something neutral for a day outside ;)

Nfu Oh #40

I caved and bought a few more flakies from Nfu Oh. When I think about it, most of the manicures I wear for more than a few days have been flakies, and it's no surprise it's one of my favourite effects, is it? :)

One of the ones that made it into my online cart was #40. It's a clear based flakie, and it's definitely meant for layering.

I used NailTek II, one coat WnW Black Creme, one coat #40 and Fast Forward topcoat. It's a painless, yet amazing manicure, lol. Nfu Oh is definitely my go-to's when I need something simple that still looks like a million.

One of the things I love about Nfu Oh's flakies is that not two are alike. This one might look similar to #52 (which I swatched here), but trust me; these are very different. While #52 is in a blue jelly base with shimmer, #40 is flakies only - and the result on the same basecolour is pretty obvious, isn't it? They are very different!

Once again, I decided to skip the bottle picture, because this colour is not much on its own (while the bottle itself is gorgeous, I've shown it so many times I don't think I need to again LOL).

If I had to choose between #40 and #52, I think I'd go for this one. The clear base means it can be used on every colour of the rainbow, and the flakies look much more crisp and clear in this one as well. That said, I wouldn't give up on #52 - it's got a little more *pow* in it, shimmer and all ♥ Who am I kidding, I can't choose between these, LOL!

Nfu Oh #51 - Did I really need Unicorn Pee after all?

Hey girls!

This weekend it feels like time flew by! Sure, we changed into summertime here in Denmark, but that's not why I feel the weekend is too short - I was busy playing Plants vs. Zombies (a gift from my boyfriend since I kept borrowing his PC to play it LOL). Yes, I'm super late joining the trend that is P. vs. Z., but oh well. Better late than never :)

Nfu Oh #51

I changed my manicure last night, and I decided to try one of the last Nfu Oh flakies I haven't shown yet - #51. As soon as I received the bottle, I couldn't help but thinking about Clarins 230 aka Unicorn Pee. These polishes are very similar. Today I found out if I should've skipped 230, and I will tell you this later in the post ;)

I decided to layer #51 over a purple creme to bring out the purple jelly base. I used two coats of China Glaze Grape Pop and one coat of #51 - it could do with another layer, but I wanted the purple to be dominant, so I stopped with one coat.

This polish has a million faces. It is incredibly hard to photograph - at night, all I could flash was the purple base! So I decided to wait until today with some proper light, and it helped some.... But still, believe me when I echo what other bloggers say; this polish is more beautiful in real life ♥

It's heavily packed with flakies and shimmer. I think the flakies are orange and green, similar to the ones in #49, but don't quote me on that. The shimmer reflects the entire rainbow - gold, orange, red, green - and if you add another dimension, blue! 

This is best shown in the ring I made to match my manicure :) I have another post coming about my rings, so I will leave you with a picture of this one to start with. Think of it as an appetizer ;)

I couldn't settle with just one picture of this polish, so out of the 50 I took, I chose 4 and put them in a collage. I think they represent the different faces of the polish quite well, but this is just one of the polishes you have to see for yourself.

Nfu Oh #51 over China Glaze Grape Pop

So, to repeat myself - this is bottled rainbow. It's amazing. I love flakies, and I love Clarins 230's effect - having both in one polish is just polish heaven to me. I do think the two are rather different though, 230 containing much more shimmer is gorgeous on another level... and I wouldn't rethink my purchase if I had the chance. Why settle for one rainbow when you can have two? :)

What's you opinion about #51 - is it worth the buzz? If Clarins is too expensive for you, or just impossible to find, I can highly recommend #51 - it will make you feel magical ♥

Nfu Oh #50 & China Glaze Grape Pop

Just a teeny post from me today with a simple manicure. I've been busy these past days, spending time with my mom and - unfortunately and unrelated - a few migraines.

Nfu Oh #50

Nfu Oh #50 is a flakie goody from my favourite flakie distributor. One day I'd like to have them all, not counting the yellows... Some of the polishes look alike, but they're all so different once you get them in your hands!

I found the consistence of #50 to be more dense and thick than the rest of my flakies, as a result it was kind of hard to distribute the flakies evenly on the nail. It's worth the work though ;)

It's a very sheer polish so I decided to use China Glaze Grape Pop as base. One coat for most nails, though a few hand bald spots and needed two. One coat of #50 and lastly one coat of China Glaze Fast Forward, and I was good to go!

I would love to try this over a dark, navy base another time, but alas, too many polishes awaits their 15 minutes of glory on my nails (LOL) and it will have to wait a while. ;)

Flakies - matte & shiny topcoat comparison

In my previous post about Nfu Oh #49, Rijah suggested I should try a matte top coat on the manicure to spice it up. After wearing #49 for approx. 3 days not getting tired of the gorgeous polish but tip wear was beginning to show, I decided to give it a go and used some scotch tape to see a comparison on the nail. :)

It's always been my opinion that the duo-chrome effect becomes less obvious with a matte top coat, and even though the flakies are still looking gorgeous, I'd feel I'd miss the duo-chrome effect with an entire matte manicure. Anyway, I took some pictures to show you - what do you think? Is it prettiest with shiny, matte, or the combination of both? While it does take away some shine, the duo-chrome is definitely still there - silly me ;)

I apologise for me holding a completely unrelated (but pretty) bottle - I just picked up the easiest to reach from my lightbox. Consider it a preview of my next manicure! Oh, and ignore the tipwear - I changed the manicure after the comparison. Yay for lazyness ;)

I used Essie - Matte About You for the matte half.

While the matte top does take away some of the effect, it also adds depth and some subtle, darker colours. I'd definitely wear the combination of matte and shiny, but if I can bring myself to matte the entire manicure, I'm not sure.

Orange - green flakie heaven - aka Nfu Oh #49

Hey guys! Having a great week so far? I must admit I wish it was next week already LOL. I feel tired already, and some idiot at school made my Monday a rough one. Today has been great, and would've made a perfect start on the week (me being willing to forget about Monday), if not for a headache. This post might be a little short on info because of that. Feel free to shoot me some Q's in the comments ;)

Nfu Oh #49

It's time for another Nfu Oh :) I planned to make this entry yesterday but I wanted to take better pics so I had to do them today before work. I somehow failed to capture the duo-chrome effect at first shoot, how you can do that with these amazings I have no idea!

Nfu Oh #49 is a sheer orange base packed with gorgeous flakies. I want to try this over an orange-y brown one day, to see if I can get it to show the blue/purple effect that you can see to the left, but for now I can show you it layered over black.

I used my basecoat NailTek II, one coat Wet'n'Wild Black Creme, one coat #49 and lastly, my topcoat Fast Forward from China Glaze.

#49 is more dense than my other flakies, at least it felt so as I tried to manoeuvre the brush, making sure there was an adequate amount of flakies everywhere. It was almost a challenge not to get too many flakies on my nail, LOL, but I don't count that as a bad thing.

I wore this to class Monday and had such a hard time looking away from it; the light was PERFECT and I wish I had my camera with me (though I'm sure that would've labelled me as a loony LOL, or dare I say more loony than now? ;) ). Regardless, this is one of the polishes that will not disappoint on the nail - I admit that it looked like orange pee in the dull light whilst I opened the package the day it arrived.

And my favourite view; the green side! It takes this amazing (yes, I'm using amazing as a noun. These polishes are worth it!) to a hole new level of amazingness. I've said it before but will say it again: Nfu Oh = amazing. You get 17 ml of amazing and it will last forever if you use it as a layering polish. Some of the few polishes I can wear for days without getting bored with it.

Oh, btw - these pictures are taken after two days wear. I've been working and going to school, but my manicure still holds strong, and I owe it to tip-wrapping with both the black creme and the topcoat. It really makes the difference if you want your polishes to last longer :) I believe it was the talented Ulmiel who wrote a post about it? Shout in the comments if you did! x)

Nfu Oh # 52

Today I have a beautiful flakie polish to show you - Nfu Oh #52.

I bought this polish used since I already have #56 and I thought it'd be too close to be worth having both, but jumped the opportunity when I could get it for less than retail. When it arrived I could see there was a major difference, and I'm super excited to have both now :) And won't you know it; I'm already looking at getting a few more, I blame the beautiful bottle design and the major difference I was oblivious to before!

While #56 is green flakies with a subtle blue-ish tinge to it, #52 is equal part blue and green, depending on how light catches it. During the day it flashes both colours, as it gets darker the green becomes more dominant (as the light gets more yellow toned).

I decided to try layering it over black, since I didn't know whether to take a blue or green base colour. I think a blue base will make the blue more obvious and I bet a green will bring out the green.
I used Wet'n'Wild Black creme as base, which is a cheap one-coat black. It's been my go-to black base for a while, but I'm running out.. If you know of a good, one-coat black creme, LMK in the comments! :) I've been thinking of Essie Licorice, as I love it's jelly finish.

Anyways, back on flakie track lol. If you're thinking about getting a blue and or or green flakie polish from Nfu Oh I'd definitely recommend #52 and kill two birds with one stone.

Wet'n'Wild - Black Creme & Nfu Oh #52 - natural light

I used one coat of Black Creme and one coat of Nfu Oh #52. It's a relativel quick manicure, considering I often do 3-4 layers not counting base and top coat. And it looks like a million, if you ask me ♥

I read that Nfu Oh is releasing a series of jellies, called jelly syrups. Judging from the pictures and descriptions, they are very sheer and will never build up to be opaque, but I'm still super excited and hope I will get the opportunity to try a few :) Jellies = layering fun!

Weekend mani ~ Nars & Nfu Oh!

Today I want to share pictures of what I've been and still am wearing this weekend :) I've received a lot of new polishes the past week, but I'll make a separate post showing them - I've bought so much it would make my post too long I think, LOL!

Anyhow, one of the polishes I'm most excited about getting - one of my big lemmings - NARS Zulu ♥ I hadn't tried out Nfu Oh's version when I found it in an english webstore at a very reasonable price (yay!), and decided I'd restrain myself until the real deal came home. And I don't regret it one second! I used three coats and one coat of Seche Vite Topcoat to make it last longer and dry fast.

I don't know if it was because it's a jelly I had a hard time wrapping the tips, but it might be why. And to all of you contemplating if this polish is worth your greens, it def. is! I had very high expectations to the formula, colour and depth and it still made me swoon ♥

Even though this colour is amazing on it's own, I decided to try out my Nfu Oh #56 I bought for the very same purpose - to add sparkles. I'm a glitterholic, I can't help it. I used one coat, took a few pics and then added a layer of Seche Vite to add depth. This difference between adding topcoat and not is more visible RL - it's like comparing the glitter wet and dry.

My middle finger has a spot on the following pics - I've been drawing today and forgot to clean it off before taking pictures, ooops!

Notice the difference in glitter hue - it has a more blue-ish, cold green in the last picture with no flash. I'd love a flakey this colour ♥ #56 is very pretty though, I'm def. satisfied with it. Very easy to apply evenly and great amount of sparkles in just one layer. this polish is going to last me a lifetime!

Edit: Notice how #56 goes from green to blue hue in the bottle? It does too on the nail! I've been looking at the pretty colours all day :)

This month's big haul!

My parents invited me on a trip next month to visit my brother in Germany, I can't wait! It's been a while since he was home in DK to visit us, and there's still a long time 'till christmas, so it's awsome to be able to see him sooner! I'm meant to save for the trip (and I am doing my best!), but of course a "few" nail polishes has found their way home to my stash... A lot of new brands I've never tried, some I've been dying to try.. and some because you grab 'em when you get the chance! I have one more package on the way, but I swear it's the last I'm getting for November. 

I forgot to take pics of my two new bottles of China Glaze Peppermint cuticle oil, but both the one the seller resend and the spare I bought arrived without breaking! *phew* So now I have deliciously smelling oil for my poor cuticles :) I can see improvement already, but I'm going to use it daily until I'm satisfied.

I've also received a lot of nail art goodies, such as 60 cheap nail art pens, the little haul I bought from Mardys makeup shop, rhinestones, beads and detail brushes I'll be using for my future nail art. I made a pretty funky design Thursday, which I'm still wearing, but it's for a nail art contest and I won't show you before it's over. I sure won't win but the design means something for me so it'll be good to be able to share it anyway ;)

This post would be pretty boring without pics of my newest nail polishes, wouldn't it? Let's get on with it!

First, Mardy's daughter Mandy kindly offered to pick up some nail polishes from my wishlist I can't get online or in DK. I've been drooling over these, especially Choose Me ever since I saw them the first time online this summer. I'm ver so grateful she helped me out, thank you so much Mandy! ♥

Next up is a package from Illamasqua, including two nail polishes I have been drooling over. I allowed myself to splurge and buy Raindrops since I've literally been thinking about it ever since I saw a post on Nihrida's awsome blog. This polish has, no kidding, been haunting me in my dreams. When I was going to order anyway, I decided this little pretty shouldn't have to travel all by itself, and I've had a good eye to Rampage, so I ordered it as well.

Also featured in this picture is my very first polishes from the amazing brand Nfu-Oh. And they are definately not my last. I have been lemming NARS' Zulu, and decided to get Nfu-Oh's #569, a green jelly that looks somewhat similar (and I will have to fight the supposedly bad application when the time comes. An awsome colour is worth it!). My fiancé was so sweet to offer t pay for it, so I decided to order one of their famous flake polishes as well! ♥ My choice fell on #56, which looks amazing with #569.

Last, but certainly not least, a great find from a "sell your old clothes & misc" site... Polishes that I have been drooling over - both colour-wise and name-wise, they have so brilliant names! plus they're insanely sparkly! I was so bummed when I found out they're virtually impossible to get. Well now I get to cross almost all of them off my wantlist!! ♥

The girl that was selling them actually had a few more from the series, but I couldn't allow myself more than 6, so I took the ones I like the most :) Maybe I can go back after the rest later... *looks in empty wallet*

My favourites name-wise are LOL and OMG. Both are expressios I use too often ;) Colourwise, DV8 has stolen my heart - I love everything turquoise, teal and blue-green!

I paid about 10-12$ each, and they have been used on 1-10 nails one time each. I don't know if it's outrageously expensive and it was in fact her that made a good deal LOL but I don't care. I wanted them so badly!
