Blogger issues..

I'm sorry I've been so quiet lately, but Blogger has been really messed up. I know it's mostly back to normal but they haven't restored my post with Ocean Dip or my comments received after that post :/ I hope they will soon, I don't feel like posting until it's back to normal.
I can't help but think about finding another alternative in the future. I really want a back-up from now on.

I'll be back soon with a post for you. I have a few manicures just waiting to be written/posted :)

The lack of posts this week

I'm sorry I haven't been updating my blog for almost a week. I suffer from migraines, and this past week has been horrible - one nasty migraine which keep giving me relapses :/ I'm going nuts lying on my couch/in bed all the time so I have been sporadically online, I just haven't had the strength or felt like applying new polishes or making posts. Nfu Oh #51 is holding up really good, but I guess I'm not really putting it to the test resting all the time, lol.

I hope to be back soon with a NOTD :)

Cuticles - a rant, and a plea for help

My cuticles are annoying me. They look horrible! Not only have I decided that I will only do a new manicure every other day from now on. It's not like I usually do one daily, but in periods I do and I would've loved to continue that. I'm even more annoyed that my cuticles look horrible on my pictures and sometimes it prevents me from showing manicures and close-ups.

I use cuticle oil (China Glaze peppermint, yum!) daily, and have for a week. Maybe I'm just not patient enough LOL. I don't think it's the nail polish that is drying them out as I don't spill much, I'm pretty sure it's a combination of the weather, nail polish remover and the fact that my work is hard on my fingers that's causing it. And I wash my hands constantly as I'm pretty anal with hygiene.

I'm currently using a nail polish remover with oil to prevent this from being the cause, but it doesn't help *sigh* Do you have any cremes, oils, polish removers you' recommend? I don't mind paying for a higher end brand if it can help.

I wish I had a fancy manicure to show you, but I decided not to do one even though I'm tired of my princess pink manicure. Darned be those cuticles, yaaargh!

This is not how I pictured my peppermint cuticle oil :(

I got the envelope in my hands, noticed water damage and thought "odd, it doesn't rain.. oh no!" and then I smelled the sweet peppermint. I already knew it was the best bottle that broke. Urgh.

China Glaze Peppermint Cuticle oil - not much left, is there?

I guess it was supposed to happen sooner or later. I'm still not happy about it though, I badly need a cuticle oil and had waited on purpose to get this seasons peppermint from China Glaze, and this was the main reason I bought this gift set. At least the seller promised to send me another one right away. She hadn't packed bubblewrap around the bottles to keep them from rattling into each-other, so I don't think it's a case of the postal workers being sloppy.

On a much happier note, I have started baking every now and then. I've been baking test batches of christmas cookies (my first times baking cookies, I wasn' sure how it would go LOL), and muffins with apple/cinnamon flavour.

Apple/cinnamon muffin. It tasted so good! :)

Tomorrow I'll be doing a new manicure (not sure which polish to use yet!), so I promise next post is more nail-related LOL.

Have a great weekend!

Feeling peachy

This is going to be a little rant-ish, and I'm sorry for that.

My nails are getting worse for each day I go to work. They chip, and get shorter and shorter - I don't mind having relatively short nails, but if they are too short I don't bother painting them. Who am I kidding?! Of course I still paint them! But it dawned on me tonight; I don't cut them immediately after one is broken, so most of my naily pictures are pics of 3-4 different lengths! It looks horrible, so from today I will cut them all at the shortest length and try to be happy about 'em. And be as cautious as I can during work. I'm sorry for the newb-ness up until now; I don't know why I didn't realise before. In a way, I think I was hoping they'd grow back out and catch up on the other nails, LOL! Just take a look at today's pics and last post, my index and middle fingernails are extremely short.

So please, don't focus on my nail lenghts today. I want to show you another of the Catrice my mom purchased for me in Germany, I Scream Peach! I needed a bit of summer feel as these past days has been rough :)

Catrice I Scream Peach!

Catrice I Scream Peach!

It was very smooth and easy to apply, I used two coats but if you want 110% coverage, 3 coats is advisable. It held through 2 days of work with no top coat - with minimal chipping, which is a long time compared to other polishes.

Today I went to a sale in a local Matas (beauty shop), and I found a lot of old GOSH polishes - including a very special, to me at least, sparkly topcoat with a lot of potential. I also bought a sheer white, a black gelly based flitter, and I received a Chanel I have been lusting for a while. More about that in my next post! :)

I have a quite a few AMAZING, expensive polishes on the way, as well as a lot of basic stuff (yay for paycheck!), so in a few weeks I will hopefully be ready to show you oodles of gorgeous new colours!
